For C's, D in Detroit for Delightful.

By Zoo

No longer are the Pistons feared. The only D being used in Detroit now a days in defeated. Ok maybe dejected too. This was evident early Friday night as Boston jumped out to a 23 to 16 first quarter lead. The Celtics had a 7 point lead but it sure felt like 70. The C's had 10 assists on their first 10 baskets and Rajon Rondo led the way with 8 points on 4-4 shooting and 5 assists. Funny what a difference a year makes. Make that 6 years. Barring an injury outbreak to Boston, Cleveland or Orlando the Pistons run of Conference Finals appearances is over.

From the opening tap it just seemed like the Celtics could get whatever they wanted anytime they wanted it. The Pistons were not gonna roll over however. The bunch from Detroit looked spirited at times but it was obvious the C's were the better team. And even the back of the Pistons minds they knew it. But they were stubborn. The C's were in the midst of 20% shooting from the field with 2:30 left in the second quarter when the Pistons tied the game up at 35. The two teams would alternate baskets for the rest of the half and the C's led by 2 at the break.

The Celtics opened up the second half the same way they did the game and jumped out to an early 9 point lead. Again the C's can get whatever they wanted ... but the stubborn Pistons refused to accept their fate.

With 5:56 left in the game Kendrick Perkins tried to drive the point home with a flagrant foul on Jason Maxiell that got him ejected from the game. His message was simple ... accept defeat Detroit. Eventually they did.

Final Boston 86 Detroit 78.

The Boston Celtics won their 10th straight game. The team has played 48 games and has won 39. It is also the second time this season the C's have a double digit winning streak.
